Conserving and transforming: the skilful restoration of Villa Matilde gave a
new lease of life to the whole estate.
The most incredible part being the transformation of the old stables which are
now the Piedmont-style “Le Scuderie” Restaurant, a haven for demanding gourmets.
The floor, the former horse boxes and the eating troughs have become design features
and add to the atmospheric surroundings.
The 19th-century Sala Rosa room and the Sala Azzurra room, which is entirely
hand-painted with fine decorations are used for breakfasts, small meetings and
private dinners.
The Salone Reale is the ideal choice for gala dinners and wedding receptions
with its frescoed dome ceiling and the light from the parklands which floods into
this rarefied ambience.
